About

🌊 Whitstable to Herne Bay Loop 🥾☀️

Join us on Saturday 30th May as we head out for a beautiful seaside hike from Whitstable to Herne Bay, taking in the Kent coast, fresh sea air, and plenty of gorgeous views along the way.

We’ll be meeting at London Victoria before catching the 09:40am train, arriving at 10:58am ready to begin our adventure. The route is 10.5 miles and will take around 4 hours 17 minutes, making it a great option for those who enjoy a steady day of walking with rewarding coastal scenery. 🌿

Whitstable is one of Kent’s best-loved seaside spots, famous for its working harbour, independent charm, seafood, and especially its oysters. The harbour remains a lively part of the town, with market stalls, food spots and a classic seaside feel. As we make our way along the coast, expect sea views, breezy promenades, and that wholesome out-of-London feeling that makes these hikes such a treat.

We’ll finish in Herne Bay, a traditional seaside town known for its historic pier, picturesque seafront, Victorian clock tower, and long stretch of coastline. It’s the kind of place that feels wonderfully classic and relaxed, with plenty of opportunities for a post-hike wander or bite to eat.

As part of our new tiered membership structure, this hike will cost £5 for members on the Free membership tier. This helps cover admin costs and offers some compensation for the BGO event planners who put time into organising these community adventures.
