Join us for our next BGO Monthly Bouldering Social on Sunday 17th May for another afternoon of climbing, laughs, encouragement and post-session food đâš
Whether youâre a total beginner whoâs never touched a climbing wall before, or a seasoned wall-scaling icon who disappears up a route in 10 seconds flat, this oneâs for you. Our monthly bouldering socials are all about giving things a go, cheering each other on, having a laugh, and building confidence in a relaxed, social setting.
Bouldering is a brilliant full-body workout that challenges your strength, balance and problem-solving, but the best bit is that you can take it entirely at your own pace. No ropes, no pressure, no experience needed. Just turn up, get involved, and enjoy a fun Sunday with a great bunch of lads đ§ââïžđȘ
As always, weâll stick around afterwards for some food and a catch-up, so whether you come for the climbing, the social, or the post-climb roasty debrief, youâll be very welcome.

FAQs
1. Do I need to have bouldered before?
Not at all. Beginners are always welcome and these socials are a great way to give it a try for the first time.
2. What time does it start?
Same as usual, weâll be meeting at 2:30pm.
3. Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. Lots of people come solo and these events are designed to be friendly and social, so youâll be in good company.
4. Do I need to be super fit or strong?
Definitely not. Bouldering is for all levels and there are routes with different grades, so you can ease yourself in and climb at whatever level suits you.
5. What should I wear?
Comfortable gym-style clothing that you can move around in. Think activewear or anything stretchy and easy to climb in.
6. Do I need my own equipment?
Nope. You can usually hire climbing shoes at the venue, so no need to invest in kit unless you already have your own.
7. Is there an instructor or lesson?
We usually keep it informal, but staff at the venue are on hand and the group is always happy to help first-timers get started.
8. What if Iâm nervous?
Thatâs totally normal. Bouldering can feel a bit out of your comfort zone at first, but the atmosphere is always supportive, low-pressure and encouraging.
9. Are we doing food after?
Yes, as usual weâll head somewhere nearby afterwards for food and a post-climb catch-up.
10. How do I join?
Just sign up in the usual way and join the group chat so you can keep an eye on any updates on the day.
